A personal note before we begin—
I’ve always prided myself on the images I compose to illustrate the articles I write. Most times I get it right but alas, there will always be a time or two when I don’t (especially on my older articles.) In any event, I believe I’ve gotten much better over time because I try to put as much thought into the cover image as I do the article itself. The image above (sans additions of Chinese symbols, Biden’s signature and the dollar sign) was created by M C Escher titled “Drawing Hands”, Circa 1948. I’ve always loved his optical art and this came immediately to mind when writing this article. I was talking with a friend the other day about a piece wanted to write about Biden’s usefulness. To the average sane individual, it’s a difficult question to answer but there actually is one which prompted the image above.
Not the First Time
Throughout history, we’ve had some pretty bad presidents along with equally inept and corrupt administrations. While most go hand in hand, there is a exception or two like that of President Ulysses S. Grant whose presidency was rife with scandal and corruption. While he played no role in either, these individuals were appointed by him resulting in forever tarnishing his presidency. So, great man with a direct role in the Union winning the U.S. Civil War— just not the brightest bulb on the tree in who he chose to work for him.
Another on the list is Woodrow Wilson, a full blown card carrying racist whose wife pretty much ran the show after his debilitating stroke, hiding him away from politician’s including his cabinet’s prying eyes.
Let’s jump ahead a few decades to Jimmy Carter. Affable guy but horrible President who became much better known in later years for his altruism than anything else. He just had no business running a country.
The year I decided to pay more serious attention to politics was when George W. Bush was elected in 2001. “What an idiot,” I thought to myself… “this was the best they could come up with?” He was so bad, a music video by George Michael was the best depiction of what his presidency was like (which included the British Prime Minister Tony Blair. It was not only hilarious but right on the money.
Yes, George W. Bush was a fairly dismal President which brings us back to the Democrat side with a BIG shout-out to Joe Biden. Top of a surprisingly long list of pathetic Presidents. The only difference being is the American Public doesn’t have to wait for history to be written to declare Biden’s utter worthlessness. His stupidity is on full display daily, right in front of us. In fact, pretty much every time he opens his mouth. Biden, along with his even more intellectually challenged vice president couldn’t find a coherent sentence with two hands and a flashlight. But— and it’s a very important but— he is extremely good at two things. One of which I use as the cover image. First, he does what he’s told. And he gets away with most of it by having one of the most complicit White House press corps in history covering his ass. It really is astonishing the difference between this group and the ones who covered Trump during his presidency. Night and day.
The second is his continued ability to sign his name. Can’t get better than that… right? “Sign right here Mr President, there’s a ice cream cone with your name on it afterwards,” his handlers say with a smile knowing that Biden probably has no earthly clue what he’s signing (unless previously written on one of those cheat sheets conveniently placed in his coat pocket)— just as long as he fulfills his obligations to countries like China and Ukraine who appear to have old Joe squarely in their back pockets.
The clip above from The MOVIECLIPS channel is from Blazing Saddles, one of if not the best comedies ever produced which sadly, could never be made today. In this clip, Hedley Lamarr (Harvey Korman) manipulates the idiot governor (Mel Brooks). The similarities to what we have today with Biden are remarkable.
Half of what we as a nation have experienced over the last two years are due to two basic causes. First was a democrat controlled Congress passing trillions and trillions of dollars in Bills— and who really knows where all that money went or is going? Not the American Public. All we know so far is somewhere around 500 BILLION in Covid-19 relief funds was lost through fraud because of inept government mismanagement. That’s half a trillion dollars down the drain. But where did the rest of it go? Sure as hell not where it was supposedly targeted for. Which I guess was the main reason it passed in the first place, right?
Second is the proverbial Presidential Executive Order. Depending on your political ideology, these Orders can be a good thing or disastrous. For example, if you support totally open borders, then Biden’s Executive Order reversing all of Trumps Executive Orders regarding our borders was a good thing. One of the unique aspects of the Executive Order. Supposedly, a sitting President has the ability to rescind his predecessors Executive Orders with the stroke of his pen. Seemingly, the only caveat is just as long as a judge allows him to do it (in reference to Obama’s DACCA program.) From what I understand, it wasn’t that Trump couldn’t rescind DACCA, it was that (according to SCOTUS) he did it incorrectly. Believe it or not, DACCA remains to this day, tied up in the courts. But for the most part, yes— Presidential Executive Orders last only as long as the President remains President. After that, they remain at the discretion of future Presidents.
Government by Executive Fiat
Congress loves Presidential Executive Orders because of one simple truth. With bypassing Congress, it absolves them completely— legislatively that is. At worst, they could be seen as culpable because of ideological association, but that’s about it. They’ll always have the excuse, “That was the President’s order. I didn’t propose it, or vote on it. Don’t blame me!”.
On top of which, it is more immediate. With the stroke of a pen, everything changes. What Biden has done these past two years proves the amount of destruction to the nation can be accomplished through Executive Orders and he’s done a damn good job of it so far. And with the loss of the House to Republicans, that’s pretty much all Joe has left for the rest of his term. His ability to sign his name to Executive Orders likely not thought of nor written by himself. “Sign here please Mr President, your cone is waiting.”
Biden Needs to be Impeached
From the beginning, simply by virtue of the fact that I truly believe the 2020 election was stolen and add the fact that Biden has placed the United States in the toilet in just about every way imaginable, the thought of his inevitable impeachment would be a foregone conclusion. And it still very well could happen, but not so much for the reasons I had originally thought. With each passing month with Republican control of the House, I’m becoming increasingly doubtful. Nothing (as far as I know) is being substantially accomplished by the Republican House. Sure, they passed a few bills but outside of disallowing Washington DC from making just about all crime legal, I haven’t seen much real movement. Especially regarding Biden. A few hearings here and there but if they’re not being reported on, the American Public knows little to nothing about them. The Senate has become a joke so we can’t expect much from them. And even if Biden were impeached, it would be purely symbolic which could be a concern to Republicans in 2024. So unless the House can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Biden has indeed committed truly impeachable offenses then all we can expect from House hearings are Republicans making valid points with their democrat colleagues making more speeches. All in the hope that news agencies will actually do their jobs and report the truth. Think that will happen anytime soon? Yeah, neither do I.
I thought what Biden has done creating the border crisis would be enough and a part of me still does. My reasons written about in The Fall of Joe Biden. While I feel I made my case, I’m no lawyer. All I know is that if the House does intend on impeaching Biden, they damn well better do it quick because the closer we get to the 2024 elections, the more it will appear to be nothing but a political stunt. But in my mind, there’s more than enough already in the Public sphere to legitimately impeach Biden. Forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.
Until that day comes, expect more and more executive orders along with more Sign here Mr President. And here…. and here…. and…
