Update: Mayorkas Impeachment

The first time I wrote about impeaching Secretary Mayorkas was a little over a year ago. For those who have yet to read it, here it is. It’s Time to Impeach Mayorkas. At the time I wrote the article, I was surprised it was taking as long as it had (even back then) to impeach Mayorkas. Approximately nine months later with Mayorkas still not impeached I was beginning to think that too much time had passed for his impeachment to be effective. Don’t get me wrong, I fully understood there was no way he would be convicted in the Senate. Everyone knew this, especially under this them against us relationship in Congress over the last decade. Right or wrong, it’s Party line, all the time. While I sincerely believed impeachment was more than justified, also knowing the inevitable outcome, one of the arguments I made in addition to my reasoning behind his impeachment was the fact that liberal media would be forced to cover it, then try to give their dwindling viewership their indefensible defense of Mayorkas. I’ve made pretty much the same argument in regard to impeaching Biden in my article Shit or Get Off the Pot. It forces liberal media to cover stories that make their side look bad. Primarily because there’s virtually no way they could spin it otherwise. And again, I’m beginning to believe it’s now way too close to the election for any impeachment not be seen as a political stunt by House Republicans. Therefore, my earlier suggestions of ending House hearings on both matters have to be revised. But here’s the part in all this I failed to take into consideration. (Stupid me).

While I was somewhat aware the Senate had the power to dismiss holding an impeachment trial brought by the House out of hand, it never occurred to me they’d actually do it. However, I was brought a little solace when I realized that the Democrat’s reason for doing so was the very reason I wanted impeachment trials to take place knowing there would be no conviction whether it was Mayorkas or Biden. Both going back to forcing liberal media to not only cover them both, but to defend them. To me, that is the reason Schumer dismissed the Mayorkas trial and would most likely dismiss a Biden impeachment trial should it ever arise. Democrats don’t want to see either in the media. In my opinion, that is the real reason. They know there would be witnesses who would testify against Mayorkas (or Biden) and they also know it would be televised across the planet and because of the clusterfuck going on at the border for now over three years, people would be intently watching. This is the very last thing Democrats want the American public to see.

Make no mistake— there will be a few Democrat Senators who will lose their seats over this and perhaps that’s why they made the decision to vote the way they did. They know they’re going to lose the Senate in this next election so why not go out in a blaze of ill-perceived glory. So perhaps— just perhaps it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to impeach Biden after-all (just as long as the Articles of Impeachment include all the laws Biden has intentionally broken regarding the border.) It would not surprise me in the least if Schumer dismissed Biden’s trial as well. Why? And why include the border? Three reasons: (1) If Senators dismiss this one without holding a trial, the public will find it completely intolerable resulting in more Democrat Senators losing their seats. (2) If Schumer allows the trial to take place, everything that would have been said and testified to had there been a Mayorkas impeachment trial would be brought up against Biden. A double whammy when the bribes are included. (3) Once again, either way, liberal media will be forced to cover it.

If I were a betting old fish— my money would be on Schumer dismissing a Biden Impeachment trial.

For the exact same reasons.

On a side note: I just read about Speaker Mike Johnson preparing three foreign aid bills to Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan stating he’s doing what he believes is the right thing to do and “let the chips fall where they may,” at the same time knowing all three would pass the House by virtue of the Democrats and a few RINO republicans who would vote for them. Johnson is fully aware this could very well cost him his job as Speaker with Democrats loving every delicious moment of it. I gave my reasons why I believed this would be a very bad move in my last article but let’s for just a moment take a look at these possible bills.

Taiwan: Does Taiwan really need foreign aid above and beyond what they already receive? (Honestly, I don’t know if they receive any foreign aid on a yearly basis.) If they do, so be it but the last time I heard anything about Taiwan, all they want are the weapon systems they’ve already bought and paid for from the U.S.. What’s holding up the deliveries?

Israel: I could be wrong but it’s my understanding that Israel does receive foreign aid on a yearly basis. Again, if that’s the case, so be it as I’m sure to an extent— they earn it in various ways. Therefore, any temporary addition foreign aid to Israel under these circumstances I personally have no problem with.

Ukraine: Completely different story. I wouldn’t give them a dime. As I’ve written before, why is the U.S. so gung-ho calling for a cease fire after what Hamas did on October 7th yet at the same time, telling Ukraine they’ll support them in just about every way possible for as long as it takes? (See articles: The Pot Calling the Kettle Black and The War in Ukraine).

Johnson says Putin has to be stopped with billions more going to Ukraine with his reasoning being Putin will invade NATO countries if support stops. He’s out of his mind. Does anyone truly believe that Putin would invade any NATO country knowing that somewhere around 32 countries (including the U.S.) would declare war on Russia in response? Trust me, Putin may be many things but he’s not that stupid. Would this be a reason to oust Johnson as Speaker? If you were to ask me that question a year ago, perhaps I might have said yes but seeing as this Republican held House have proved themselves a little more than disappointing, ousting Johnson just months before an election would be a really bad idea. The optics alone could very well lose them the House. They need to stick to the hand they’ve dealt themselves. Then get their shit together if Americans give them another chance to prove their worth this next time around.

Trust me, it’s their last chance.
