It never fails. I take some time off from the world of politics to finish up and release my new book, Dreams (which has absolutely nothing to do with politics and I hope you all order) and what happens next— all hell breaks loose in the world of politics. Honestly, I don’t feel that bad about the time taken to do these important things primarily because I’ve previously written about most of what’s transpired over the past two months. The BOF crystal ball is in good working order with my previous article, Welcome to Wonderland, said the Mad Hatter. If you’ve kept up here on A Basket of Fish, you shouldn’t be that surprised either
That being said, I have to admit I was a little surprised with the aftermath of Biden’s complete destruction by Trump in their presidential debate. Don’t get me wrong, I knew Biden would be politically eviscerated. That was a foregone conclusion. What I found most interesting is that those on the left including the Biden campaign had to have known this outcome also. So it makes one wonder if the early debate before the DNC convention was a set-up by the DNC (with Biden’s campaign most likely in the loop) to get him out of the running and install someone else. Again, I knew Biden would drop out of the race but I figured it would be on his own volition instead of a political gun pointed right at his head by everyone who just days earlier not only fully supported him but had every confidence in his ability to win the election. And never forget— liberal media were equally complicit. I wrote about this nine months ago with my article Biden and the 2024 Election: Timing is Everything.
I was a little curious about the strategy behind Trump’s decision to agree to the timing of the debate. Meaning, so far away from the DNC Convention. Shouldn’t they have had this first debate after the convention when Biden would have been cemented into the role of official Democrat nominee? Remember, we all knew Biden would eventually drop out. It was the “when” people weren’t exactly sure of even as Biden said time and time again, “I’m not going anywhere” and according to Biden and his campaign people, he wasn’t. And this was after his disastrous debate performance. “Win or loose, I’m going to see it through to the end,” Biden continuously said.
So let’s take a quick look at the two schools of thought behind the timing of the debate and see if we can make some sense out of the reasoning. At first I believed it was a dumb move but then realized Biden could drop out of the race any time he wanted to, before or after the the convention. If it was before, Democrats would have time to come up with a new nominee. Figure out a way to get democrat voters again become personally involved in the process. In other words, make their vote count.
With pressure mounting for Biden’s exit from the race from all sides., even those who said they fully supported him remaining in the race, Nancy Pelosi with what I’m sure was the green light from major players within the democrat party along with mega donors, sealed the deal with Biden’s political fate. But Biden was pissed and had no intention of simply going quietly into the night.
Biden’s FU to Democrat Leadership
From what I understand, leadership in the DNC didn’t simply want Biden to step down from running for a second term, they wanted the whole enchilada. Meaning— they wanted to select who would be running against Trump themselves. And it sure as hell wasn’t Kamala Harris but if it had to be, it had to be by way of a coronation. Had Biden announced he had no intention of running in 2024, open primaries would have been held and there would be no way Kamala Harris would have won the nomination. Everyone knows this. Coronation was the only way so close to the election. Mini-primaries would never have worked because it would have shown American voters (by way of a Harris challenger) just how pathetic she and the entire Biden administration has been over the last close to four years and that’s the LAST thing democrats wanted. The icing on the cake was Biden’s full-throated endorsement of Harris as his replacement while being kicked off his own re-election campaign. Like it or not, Democrat leadership are now stuck with their democrat nominee (gulp)… Kamala Harris. Let the Honeymoon begin as the media goes above and beyond their liberal biased call of duty distancing Harris as far away from Biden as they can while walking a very tight rope not to be seen as socialist media themselves. Liberal is one thing which the media has admitted to but Socialist?— that’s one label they can do without.
And where’s Joe Biden? Back where he belongs. In the basement fully stocked with his favorite ice cream and plenty of cones and it looks like he has company. Kamala Harris is right there with him. The only difference being, she’s much better reading a teleprompter and will be allowed out only for completely scripted events.
Biden’s action in giving Harris his full support completely blew-up school of thought one leaving just one other remaining. Would waiting until after the DNC Convention to hold a debate been a better way to go. Now that I’ve had time to give it some thought, my answer would have been no. Why you ask? Because Liberal, Democrats and those still on the fence on who they’ll vote for are emotional, impulse voters. Had Kamala Harris been thrust upon these people at the very last minute, they most likely would have voted for Harris on a purely emotional, impulsive level. At least this way gives Trump and his campaign time to shine a very bright light on Harris’s past and present as Vice President and what an unmitigated disaster she has been.
The Roll-out
Lights! Camera! Que the rally agitators! I watched (as much as I could stomach) Kamala’s roll-out rally and the first thing that came to mind was how completely inauthentic and choreographed it was, right down to the chants and applause. On top of which, she didn’t say anything of substance. It was all pure emotion. Trump bad, Kamala good. Nothing on the issues— other than extremely broad statements sans ways in which she intends on accomplishing anything. But she made it a point to give a shout-out to LGBTQ+++ (whatever) and others who want more free stuff and abortion to be once again a federal issue (which it will never be.) In other words, a socialist’s delusional wish-list that will never materialize. Her website is embarrassing. Saying nothing other than she wants your money. Nothing on the issues Americans deem important. She’s a younger version of brain-dead Biden yet according to polls, 40+ percent of Americans appear to support her which answers the question— Yes, even after living through four years of probably the worst President, Vice President and their administration in history with the worst approval numbers in history, there still is a large swath of Americans who remain that stupid proving the point that these people would run out and vote for a cow paddy with a D embedded in it.
Now, if that wasn’t bad enough, we finally get to see who the all knowing Democrat Party anointed nominee for President has chosen for her running mate. None other than Tim Walz. A guy who made sure tampons were made available in all boys school bathrooms. A guy who allowed cities in his state be looted and burned to the ground before he lifted a finger to do anything until four days into said looting and burning. We have a guy whose wife said during the George Floyd riots, she opened her windows to allow the sweet smell of burning tires permeate her house. We have a guy fully supports young boys and girls medically transition (in other words, give the appearance) of becoming the opposite sex. Appearance is the keyword here because these people will NEVER become the opposite sex. But he fully supports this. On a side note: Want this to end? Here’s the solution. Allow these children to sue the shit out of their parents (when they become legal adults) for signing off on what these people thought they wanted when they were minors and had no legal ability to do so without their permission. No parent in their right mind would take that risk. Problem solved.
Back to the Basement— Dumb & Dumber (Preceded by The Dumbest)
The Harris/Walz honeymoon will continue for as long as their surrogates in Liberal mainstream media can get away with it by refusing to do their jobs as journalists. As of the writing of this article, Harris has yet to have a meaningful, substantive conversation answering tough questions from the press. While most would be puff pieces asking what her favorite ice cream is or cooking questions, the press can’t give her the same pass they gave Biden without more and more Americans calling out the bullshit. The most difficult part will be the way this media will defend Harris and Walz seeing as it’s next to impossible so they’ll focus on what they did in 2020. Trump bad, Trump mean, while her campaign prays illegal aliens cast their illegal votes.. From what I’ve read, thousands of illegal aliens have admitted they’ve registered to vote in the upcoming election.
Lipstick
They say you can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. With all the scripted events Harris is doing without real vetting by the press is proving is Harris is slowly running out by virtue of the fact that a trowel is now required to keep up the illusion. It appears it’s been a “so far so good” result with her Biden basement strategy but that will all come to an abrupt end with her first debate against Trump. You thought Biden’s debate was bad? Trump will use her own record against her throughout the entire debate as she hangs her head in shame which is the reason that even though she called out Trump for a debate, she’ll drag her feet for as long as possible and so far agreed to only one debate on ABC. Trump wants three, no response from Harris proving she’s absolutely terrified at the notion and a coward. But like Biden, perhaps one debate with Harris is all that’s needed for Americans to see Harris covered in melting lipstick. Not a pretty sight to be sure as she attempts to defend her time as vice president by throwing Joe Biden under the buss. That will be the only way she can do it.
The question that baffles me is when the writing is already on the wall for every remotely intelligent individual, there really shouldn’t be a need for a debate between Trump and Harris. When Harris ran for the nomination in 2020, she bowed out before the first primary. Yes, she was that bad. I have no idea why she was chosen to be Biden’s running mate. A DEI hire? Most likely but it secured Biden’s job because at the time, everyone knew a Harris presidency would be far worse. Remember? That was Biden’s insurance policy. Different story these days as Democrats were given no other choice than throwing their full support behind a woman they themselves admitted could never see winning a presidential election. Not the case now. Equally if not more baffling is the number of people who completely buy into it. But do they? Or is this just more psychological propaganda from the media. If you consider the last close to four years of the utterly pathetic Biden/Harris administration and all the damage to this country they’ve done, unbelievably low approval numbers with 80% of Americans agreeing that life was demonstrably better domestically and globally during Trump’s time in office and then one has to ask, why is this race so close? What’s Harris running on? “More work needs to be done,” and all the fights for abortion and other emotional issues she has absolutely no chance in hell of accomplishing on her own. And upwards of 40% of people with rocks for brains not only believe it but one would also have to conclude they also don’t mind taking the probable risk of destroying the U.S. in the process.
Over 35 TRILLION in debt, with billions more spent daily on illegal immigration and a worthless war in Ukraine while doing their best to throw political wrenches in the Israel/Gaza war with Hamas. The next four years will make or break the U.S. as a whole. Either we get or shit together and make America great again or we become a socialist country saddled with austerity because of all the spending. Taxes will skyrocket under the guise of wealth redistribution. Harris supporters love this because they just see the ideas and care not about the consequences when it all backfires. Pay no attention to the fact that 92% of Harris’s staff quit on her because of her personality and leadership skills. Forget the fact that Harris was installed as the Democrat nominee by the democrat/media machine like Biden was installed as President and the democrat/media machine are out to do it again.
Truth be told, Harris is just as much a puppet as Biden has been and will continue to be if elected with Obama and other Globalists running the show in the shadows. Talking without a teleprompter proves she’s and idiot who hasn’t a clue what she’s doing and saying with the media tossing her word salad for her. She has been and will continue to be a failure on every single domestic and global issue which if elected, will surely be brought before her. But fear not, she’s sure to have some excuse or another at the ready when it happens.
Democrat Party leadership prove time after time they really don’t care about the democrat process regarding their elections. The ends justify the means and selling their souls to the Devil in order to win is completely within their scope.
Is this truly what the majority of Americans want?
