New York City— Racing to Rock Bottom

Listen to this article

I know what you’re thinking, the image above is highly misleading seeing as it could have been used for an article written about NYC ten (or more) years ago which is pretty much how long it’s already been at rock bottom. Well, just when you think it couldn’t go any further south (perhaps drilling into rock bottom,) in walks Zohran Mamdani, a professed socialist. By the looks of it (and I could very well be wrong,) it appears this man will become mayor of New York City and to be perfectly honest seeing as I don’t live there, I really don’t care. There’s an old saying, you get what you vote for and the citizens of New York City who end up voting for this guy will soon find out the enormity of their mistake and you can chalk it all up to utter stupidity on their part.

From what I’ve been able to find out, Zohran Mamdani’s voter breakdown showed significant support from younger voters, high income and highly educated white voters in Brooklyn and Queens, along with a strong turnout from Latino and Asian communities. Additionally, he grew the electorate wooing East Asian, South Asian, and Muslim voters.

According to his website

Zohran Kwame Mamdani is a New York State Assembly-member and democratic socialist running for Mayor. Born in Uganda and raised in New York City, he has fought for the working class in and outside the legislature: hunger striking alongside taxi drivers to achieve more than $450 million in transformative debt relief, winning over $100 million in the state budget for increased subway service and a successful fare-free bus pilot, and organizing New Yorkers to defeat a proposed dirty power plant. The cost of living is crushing working people but Zohran believes that government can lower costs and make life easier in our city — he’ll use every tool available to bring down the rent, create world class public transit, and make it easier to raise a family.

More Free Stuff!

This is how you get functional illiterates to vote for you. Just promise free stuff but here’s what these idiots (including the so-called educated who are nothing more than the indoctrinated from liberal learning institutions) don’t understand. But before we get into that, watch the video below.

As you saw with the video above, a mayor (including this possible one) will not be able to fulfill anywhere near the promises he’s made to the voter by himself but that didn’t stop people from voting for him anyways. So in all likelihood, he’ll have to admit this annoying truth to his voters. “Sorry folks, couldn’t get this done, the assembly turned it down. Don’t blame me, I tried! It’s all President Trump’s fault. That’s it! It’s all his fault.” Now, add the fact that should he actually get some of these promises across the finish line, be prepared for a massive exodus (and that’s on top of the already massive exodus happening now.) What wealthy individual in their right mind would remain in their city and pay much higher taxes than they already pay? And it won’t be individuals alone who will flee, businesses will also. You’ve already seen what happened in California, the same outcome will be seen in New York City as well and when they leave, trust me, they don’t return. In fact, none of them will unless it’s for a quick visit every once in a while to visit relatives or just to look up at the skyline, smile and think to themselves… “Thank God I don’t live here any longer.” When the tax base of New York City leaves, what next?

Free stuff is nothing more than Government Control

There’s no such thing as a free lunch and all this free stuff politicians promise, they never tell voters all the hoops they will have to jump through in order to receive it. It’s like making everyone pay a twenty-five cent deposit on a 2 liter plastic soda bottle, but you can get that deposit refunded. All you have to do is drive 15 miles with all your bottles to a city certified bottle recycling center to receive it. Does the average person do this? Of course not, they just put the empty bottles into their recycle bins conveniently provided by the city? Results? Twice the money for the city

And this other free stuff? Free childcare? Simple… right? All you’ll have to do is fill out form after form after form proving your entire financial history, then wait for approval so you can save 30% on a wilted head of lettuce or have some social worker take care of your kids. And who knows what they’ll do during the eight hours a day they’ll have them and all the waivers one would likely have to sign in order for that to even take place. But it all sounded pretty wonderful when Mamdani talked about it right? Have you ever noticed that when politicians make promises, they never really go into that much detail? Par for the course. And people soak it up like a sponge. Why? Because it was just so cool to see a candidate jump into the ocean. You know who will be raking in all those tax dollars you’ll be forced to pay? All those administrators and the ones behind all these free programs. Their bank accounts will soar with tax dollars.

But let’s not stop just there. Oh no, have to look at the rest of what Mamdani wants to do. No cash bail, emptying prisons, free bus service… etc. You’d think he was running for Governor. No, anything Mamdani wants to do will be within the confines of New York City. Nowhere else. But he acts as if by being elected Mayor, his power will affect the entire state. Sorry, won’t happen. What about illegal aliens and ICE? He’ll be fighting a losing battle with Trump. He can bitch and complain all he wants but what will he do when Trump substantially curtails federal dollars flowing into the city? “MORE LAWYERS!” he’ll declare as ICE triples their presence into the city. Rioting? No problem. Trump will see to that..

I wrote two articles a couple years back. The first was  Promises Promises (July 17, 2023) which addressed these very points and another titled  Before You Vote (Jan. 14, 2024) meaning, questions you should be asking yourself before voting. I was never much of a fan of Eric Adams primarily because by virtue of not residing in New York City, I didn’t really give a shit. And honestly? I still don’t but what I continue to find remarkable is that it appears New York City hitting rock bottom isn’t rock bottom enough. Compared to Mamdani, Eric Adams looks like a Saint. Will Adams prevail over Mamdani in the general election? At this point, one can only hope but forgive me if I don’t hold my breath.

Curtis Sliwa?

Honestly? It doesn’t matter and I’ll tell you why. The New York City Council currently has a supermajority, with 45 out of 51 seats held by Democrats. This allows them to pass legislation without needing support from the minority party. On top of which— (and this is important) the New York City Council also has a veto-proof majority, which requires at least 34 votes out of 51 members to override a mayor’s veto. Therefore, with those facts alone, it proves beyond a shadow of a doubt who really controls New York City. If Sliwa won the election, outside of the extremely few things he’d be able to do (or not do) with the stroke of his pen could and most likely would be rendered, completely meaningless.

I’ve said this on multiple occasions. Unless a President, Governor or Mayor also has the support of their respective legislatures, don’t expect a lot of accomplishment from them.

On the other hand, perhaps Mamdani’s election will be the final nail in the democrat/progressive/socialist/communist coffin. You’d think being at rock bottom now would be all the writing on the wall they’d need but nope, to some, they just need a real kick in the ass. They need to see the final rock bottom as their city collapses around them. Where the only constituents remaining are criminals, wanna be criminals and those who adore a welfare state. They won’t mind stepping over trash, shit and needles while being propositioned by a hooker after being bitch-slapped by her pimp, (you know, the new democrat donor.) As for the wealthy? They won’t care. They’ll still have their multi-million dollar bubbles to live in, away from that which they’ve created.

Economists say 5 million people have fled ‘blue states’ in the last decade. You see? Writing on the wall. A Mamdani  win in New York City (being the most visible of all big cities) will prove once and for all, what their leaders are doing not only just isn’t working, it never will. And perhaps, just perhaps when said writing on the wall finally sinks into the majority of voters residing in these cities and states, people like AOC and the rest will be booted out of office and shithole cities like Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Los Angeles, Seattle and the rest along with New York City will finally be allowed to recover and have their dignity restored. Wishful thinking? Could very well be. Again…

not holding my breath.
